Following a stellar career with the Warriors, Aaron Kinnes returned to Corban University in 2014 as an assistant coach and will take over as the Head Reserve Coach after serving as the graduate assistant coach in 2013.
As a part of the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) coaching staff of the year in 2013, Kinnes led Corban to its first CCC Tournament Title since 1997 and the Warriors first CCC regular-season title since 1998. The Warriors finished the season with a record of 16-2-2 overall and 11-1-2 mark in conference play during the regular season. With this record, the Warriors earned the program’s first-ever berth into the NAIA National Tournament.
Before transferring to Corban, Kinnes played soccer at Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) where he led the team in most of its offensive categories. After one year at SWOCC, Kinnes transferred to Corban to take part in the rebuilding of the Warrior soccer program. In his three years at Corban, he was named All-Conference three times and was tabbed the Red Lion Offensive Player of the Week twice in his three year stint. During his second year at Corban, Kinnes led the Warriors to the CCC Conference Championship contest. Throughout his three years at Corban, Kinnes racked up a total of 20 goals and 17 assists.
After finishing his career at Corban, Kinnes pursued options professionally and took part in tryouts in North Carolina and overseas in Vienna, Austria.
Kinnes has been a part of the soccer community all of his life. Whether it is playing, reffing for the past 14 years, or coaching youth teams for the past six years, soccer has been a mainstay in his life.
Kinnes currently resides in Salem and attends Church on the Hill in Keizer.
