Former Corban Warrior and Oregon native Tom Graves enters his fourth season in 2018-19 after amassing one of the Warriors’ most impressive resumes in any sport.

In his short tenure, he has transformed the Corban Golf Teams into nationally known programs, and has guided his teams to multiple CCC Championships and two NAIA Championship appearances.

In 2017-2018, a monumental transitioned occurred for the Warrior Golf Programs. Thanks to aggressive recruiting efforts by Graves and his coaching staff, Corban University was able to split its golf programs into two separate programs with two head coaches. During this transition, Graves was named the Director of Golf and the Head Men’s Golf Coach in August of 2017. Being able to focus more on the Men’s Team in 2017-2018, Graves successfully led his squad to another CCC Regular Season Championship. This time, they shared the honor with Oregon Tech as Co-Champions. A consistent ranking in the NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll, as well as two CCC All-Conference selections in Devery Stewart (Plain City, UT) and Blake Netter (Canby, OR) highlighted the year.

During the 2016-17 campaign, Graves guided the Warrior Men's golf program to its first-ever CCC Regular Season title. In the same year, he lead the women to a 2nd place Conference finish. Throughout the year, both of Graves’ programs were ranked in the NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll’s, and four Warrior golfers were named CCC All-Conference players: Casey Jansen (Surprise, AZ), Carrie Wallace (La Grande, OR), Kasey Crossland (Buhl, ID), and Devery Stewart (Plain City, UT).

During the 2015-2016 season, Graves led the Warrior women's program to its first-ever CCC regular-season championship and its first ever CCC Tournament Championship. The women also garnered their first-ever berth to the NAIA National Championships, where they finished 22nd place in Savannah, GA. For his efforts, Graves was named the 2015-16 CCC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year.

Following a successful playing career at Corban from 2011-2015, Graves was named the Head Coach of the Corban Men & Women’s golf programs on May 4th of 2015. Graves went right to work, coaching Warrior Men’s standout Kade Crossland later that month during the 2015 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida. Crossland had an impressive showing, but ultimately missed the cut for the final round of play. For his season-long efforts, Crossland was named a 3rd Team NAIA All-American, Corban Men’s Golf only All-American to date.

A graduate of Newport High School, Graves was a four-time letter recipient at Corban University and member of the team that competed in the 2012 & 2013 NAIA National Championship. As a senior, he received Academic All-American honors in 2015 and graduated with honors from the Hoff School of Business with a B.S. Degree in Accounting/Finance.

Along with his coaching position, Graves is also employed full-time at Creekside Golf Club as the Director of Accounting and is an Associate in the PGA PGM program. He is an active member of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and has served as a national rater for NAIA Men’s Golf for the past three seasons. Graves is also on Nike Golf’s Swoosh Advisory Staff, where he serves as a brand ambassador for the famous Footwear and Apparel giant.

Graves resides in South Salem. During his free time, he enjoys biking, traveling, drinking red wine, and spending time with friends and family. He currently attends West Salem Foursquare Church with his better half, Jordan.

Graves is the fifth person to hold the head coaching position at Corban University. He succeeded Paul Pickerell, who coached most of the 2014-2015 season– Graves’ senior year of college.

Graves’ dedication to the sport of golf, city of Salem, and Corban University has made him a perfect fit for the Corban golf programs. Having learned many invaluable lessons throughout his playing career, Graves is now eager to pass them on to his Corban’s players.
