SALEM, Ore. – The tradition continues at Corban University, as the Warriors' athletic administration in conjunction with the selection committee announced Wednesday that the Warrior Hall of Fame's third class of inductees will be enshrined in an afternoon ceremony in mid-January.
"This is the continuation of a wonderful tradition at Corban," said Dave Johnson, Corban's Director of Athletics. "We have the opportunity to once again bring our family together and honor those who have helped shape our athletic program into what it is today."
The 2012 Warrior Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 14th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. inside the Psalm Performing Arts Center on the campus of Corban University.

ATHLETES
♦ Rosey Ball, Women's Basketball (1994-96, 97-99) ♦
Ball was a member of back-to-back National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national championship teams under head coach Terry Williams. During her first year as a Warrior, Ball scored a freshman school-record 544 points, was named All-Cascade Collegiate Conference First Team, voted CCC Freshman of the Year, and was named NCCAA Tournament Outstanding Offensive Player. Ball concluded her illustrious four-year career at Western Baptist as the program's all-time leader in free throws made (330), free throws attempted (570), and blocked shots (216). At the end of her career, Ball was one of 12 players in program history to score more than 1,000 points and is the only player in school history to register more than 200 blocks in a career. Ball ranks in the Top 5 all-time in nine statistical categories in women's basketball history and has been part of Corban's coaching staff since the 2007-08 season.
♦ Christy Nordstrom, Women's Basketball (1993-97) ♦
Nordstrom was the face of Western Baptist women's basketball for many years, as she was the program's all-time leader scorer with 1,502 points for 15 years. As the program's all-time leader in rebounds with 1,073, Nordstrom ranks in the Top 5 all-time in eight statistical categories and is one of only two players in school history to register 1,000-or-more points and rebounds in a career. Nordstrom helped lead Western Baptist to back-to-back National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national title as a freshman and sophomore, while earning three straight All-Cascade Collegiate Conference honorable mention awards. As a senior, Nordstrom was named All-CCC First Team and NCCAA First Team All-American.
♦ Justin Sherwood, Men's Basketball (1989-93) ♦
Sherwood is recognized as one of the best players in men's basketball history after helping lead Western Baptist to three straight National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national tournaments, while playing under Hall of Fame coach
Tim Hills. The third all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,710 points, Sherwood is one of six players in school history to score 2,000-or-more points in a career and ranks in the Top 10 in nine statistical categories. As a senior, Sherwood was voted Western Baptist Male Athlete of the Year as well as earning First Team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference, NCCAA All-American, and NCCAA All-Tournament recognition. For the past 10 seasons, Sherwood has served as head men's basketball coach at his alma mater.

♦ 1994-95 Women's Basketball ♦
This Warrior team won the first of back-to-back National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) crowns with a dramatic 66-64 victory over Bartlesville College. Under the direction of first-year head coach Terry Williams, the Warriors amassed the first winning season in program history going 17-16 overall that included a season-ending four-game winning streak en route to capturing the program's first-ever national title.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE
♦ Dr. Reno Hoff, University President ♦
Dr. Hoff was elected president of Western Baptist College in 1999 and has served in the same capacity ever since. As president of the University, Dr. Hoff has overseen three names changes from Western Baptist College to Corban College to Corban University. During his time as president, Dr. Hoff has also overseen the addition of seven of Corban's current 13 sports that includes men's & women's cross country, softball, men's & women's golf, and men's & women's track & field. During his time as the college's business manager, Dr. Hoff helped facilitate the building of Corban's current gymnasium, the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. In over 40 years of service to the University, Dr. Hoff has served in several different roles that include business manager, Vice President for Advancement, and Executive Vice President/Provost under former president Dr. David Miller.
The honorees will also be recognized during halftime of the men's basketball game against Concordia after the official induction ceremony earlier that same day.
