MCMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Corban University track & field teams registered a number of impressive performances on Saturday at the Linfield Jen Boyman Memorial Invitational, building further momentum as the 2015 season progresses. In particular, the men's relays both remained dominant, and the 4x400 Relay squad uncorked an NAIA 'B' standard, winning on Saturday in impressive fashion.

In that 4x400 Relay, the foursome of sophomore Michael Trofimchik (Salem, Ore.) and seniors Jacob Ybarra (Boise, Idaho), Brett Johnson (Bellingham, Wash.), and Nathan Swanson (Newberg, Ore.) combined to cross the finish line in 3:16.73, the NAIA 'B' standard mark. That time was nearly six seconds better than the second-place team in the race.
"We are very excited about the potential of our long relay," said head coach Norm Berney. "Brett Johnson ran in this event for the first time and Jacob Ybarra has only been back for two weeks, so we are just starting to reach towards our true potential."
In the short relay, the Warrior men's 4x100 quartet remained undefeated on the campaign, registering a time of 42.28 to take first place at the meet. Johnson, freshman Christian Bohuslavizki (Santa Margarita, Calif.), freshman Nathan Martin (Turner, Ore.), and Trofimchik continued to excel as a winning group.
Individually, Trofimchik took third overall with a time of 22.46 seconds in the 200 Meters.

On the women's side, a few familiar faces performed well for the Warriors. Junior Cecilee Russell (Hillsboro, Ore.) showed consistency in the 400 Hurdles, registering another NAIA 'B' standard time of 1:04.24, crossing the finish line in first place by nearly two seconds. In second place, fellow junior Chelsea Reifschneider (Sisters, Ore.) recorded a time of 1:06.07 for the Warriors.
In the 100 Hurdles, Reifschneider clocked a season-best time of 15.82 seconds, finishing in fourth.
In the High Jump, junior Sarah Taylor (Bend, Ore.) won the event by clearing a height of 5' 2.25". In addition, sophomore Emma Berg (Port Orchard, Wash.) took third with a height of 4' 10.25", also a conference-qualifying mark.

Moreover, junior Kelsey Wright (Beaverton, Ore.) registered a conference-qualifying throw as well, notching a distance in the same event of 115' 0".
"Overall, it was another solid performance today from everyone, and we were very pleased," said Berney.
