FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Sophomore Emma Berg (Port Orchard, Wash.) shined for the Corban University women's track & field team on Friday and Saturday at the Pacific Twilight Meet, registering career and season-best marks on the way to qualifying in two events for the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championships.
Berg clocked a career-best time in the 400 Meters of 59.48 seconds, winning the race in the process. The time also ranks eighth currently in the CCC. Berg, the multi-talented athlete that she is, also ripped off a season-best jump in the Triple Jump, registering a distance of 35' 4" for second place at the meet. Junior Alli Ehrhardt (Rogue River, Ore.) also competed in the event, but did not record a mark.
"Emma ran a time that puts her in the top eight for the conference," said head coach Norm Berney. "It is also the only time she has run in the 400 Meters this year. Overall, it was a great weekend for her."
Elsewhere for the Warrior men, junior Joshua Austring (Hillsboro, Ore.) ran a career-best time in the 400 Meters of 55.11 seconds for sixth place.
Corban returns to action next weekend for the conference finale at the CCC Championships taking place at Southern Oregon University on Friday and Saturday.Â
