CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Corban University track & field team sent select individuals to the OSU High Performance Meet on Saturday, and with season and career-best marks, the Warriors competed for the final time prior to the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championships.
RESULTS
"Kristi Childers stood out with great individual performances," said Corban head coach Norm Berney. "Additionally, our men's 4x100 Relay squad ran a season-best time.
Freshman Kristi Childers (Milton-Freewater, Ore.) uncorked a career-best time in the 100m Hurdles, crossing the finish line in a time of 15.94 seconds, taking 10th overall against primarily NCAA Division I competition. The time is the fifth fastest in program history. She continued her strong day in the 100 Meters, clocking the second-fastest time in school history with a mark of 12.69 seconds to place 20th overall against the Division-I competition.
Also performing well was Corban's 4x100 Relay squad, as the foursome of junior Timothy Yee (Calexico, Calif.), sophomore Christian Bohuslavizki (Santa Margarita, Calif.), sophomore Nathan Martin (Turner, Ore.), and junior Amadi Amaitsa (Keizer, Ore.) combined for a season-best time of 42.67 seconds, taking second overall at the meet.
Rounding out Corban's competitors was Bohuslavizki in the 400m Hurdles, as he registered a time of 56.69 seconds to place sixth overall.
Corban returns to action in a couple of weeks at the CCC Championships. The meet is set to take place in Hermiston, Ore. on May 13-14.
