LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced on Monday that Corban University men's track standout Nathan Martin was tabbed the CCC Men's Track Athlete of the Week. For Martin, it marks the first time during the 2018 campaign that he has received the honor.
"Nathan Martin has proven what discipline and commitment can do for you for success in track & field, even with a full schedule and student teaching this semester," said Corban track & field head coach Norm Berney. "He is a leader on and off the track, and he sets an example for our younger athletes."
Martin reset the record books over the weekend, clocking a time of 14.63 seconds in the 110m Hurdles, marking the fastest time in the event in program history. On top of it being a program record and a race-winning time at the Willamette Invite, it was also an NAIA 'A' standard time, qualifying Martin automatically for the NAIA National Championships. In addition to that accomplishment, Martin went on to register a winning time of 22.22 seconds in the 200 Meters amidst windy and rainy conditions on Saturday.
