Corban Sending Program-Record 10 Athletes to NAIA Track & Field Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the complete entry list for the 2018 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. Corban Track and Field will send 10 athletes to compete at the events, the highest mark in program history. This year's championships are set to take place on May 24-26, in Gulf Shores, Ala.

On the men's side, sprinter Nathan Martin will compete alongside a trio of standout decathletes (Michael Schmidt, Jason Bracken, Reagan Shira) on the national stage. Martin is enjoying a career year, during which he broke multiple school records, and reset a CCC record in the 200 Meters at the 2018 CCC Championships. Martin went on to earn CCC Track of the Meet plaudits at the event, following an effort Corban head coach Norm Berney described as "the best performance in Corban men's track history."

In the decathlon, Corban lands three athletes in the NAIA's top-16, with Michael Schmidt ranking third nationally with 6609 points. Bracken will look to add to his incredible career in the Navy and Gold, returning to the NAIA National Championship Meet after an impressive seventh-place finish in last year's decathlon. Shira is ranked 15th nationally in the decathlon after tallying a season-best point total of 6067. Each athlete's national ranking, qualifying event, and time/score is listed below:
