Five True Freshmen Slated to Compete for Corban Men’s Wrestling in 2025-26 Season

SALEM, Ore. – A class of five incoming true freshmen will suit up in the navy and gold singlets for the No. 16-ranked Corban University Men's Wrestling program this upcoming 2025-26 season, as Warriors' head coach Nolan Harris welcomes the quintet to campus prior to the start of the winter slate that begins in mere days. Four of the five new Navy and Gold student-athletes will remain in-state as native Oregonians, while the lone out-of-stater will move down from eastern Washington to the Mid-Willamette Valley.

To read more about the five additions to the 2025-26 Corban men's wrestling squad, see below for a brief biography assigned to each of the brand-new Warriors.

John Cartwright | 141lbs | 5-6 | Freshman | Lebanon, Ore. | Lebanon HS

One of multiple incoming freshmen with plenty of OSAA Boys' Wrestling State Tournament experience, Cartwright joins the Corban men's wrestling program coming off a 28-12 overall record that concluded in the second round of the consolation bracket for 132lbs and was a four-year wrestler for Lebanon High School.

Cartwright will be studying mathematics during his first season as a Warrior.

2025

Jesse Falcon | 285lbs | 5-10 | Freshman | Keizer, Ore. | McNary HS

Hailing from the Salem-Keizer area, Falcon will travel across town to join the Warriors as the reigning Central Valley Conference's weight class champion for 285lbs following his third year of wrestling for McNary High School where he eventually participated in the OSAA GA Boys' Wrestling State Tournament. He was a multi-sport student-athlete for the Celtics in wrestling, football, and rugby.

Falcon represents one of the many Warriors who will take advantage of the newly accredited nursing program at Corban as he pursues a career in the medical field.

Ezra Greenup | 197lbs | 5-10 | Freshman | Spokane, Wash. | Mead HS

The lone non-Oregonian for Coach Harris in the 2025-26 recruiting class, Greenup hails from eastern Washington and served as a pivotal grappler in Mead High School's 2024 JV District championship title. He became one of six Panthers to earn a weight class championship at the 190-215lb weight class division and will look to bolster the heavyweight classes as a Warrior for Corban men's wrestling.

Greenup will be pursuing a degree in business administration with an emphasis on leadership & management.

Sully Hill | 133lbs | 5-6 | Freshman | Dallas, Ore. | Dallas HS

The 2025 OSAA 5A Boys' Wrestling State Tournament runner-up for 132lbs has made Corban University his home for the next four years, as Hill entered last year's state tourney as the No. 3-overall seed and upset the wrestler seeded directly above him to claim a spot in the state title bout. He concludes his high school career at 48-6 overall and was a two-time All-State performer with a fifth-place finish under his belt from 2024 at 126lbs.

A bachelor's degree in education with an emphasis on physical education is what Hill expects to earn as he competes in the navy and gold threads.

Mason Thynes | 141lbs | 5-4 | Freshman | Redmond, Ore. | Redmond HS

Entering his collegiate career with ten years of wrestling experience, Thynes brings a packed trophy case with him to Corban's campus that includes an OSAA State Finalist finish, two-time state tournament placements, two 5A Intermountain Conference 138lb titles, and a team state championship for Redmond High School all while maintaining a 4.2 cumulative GPA.

With intentions of one day becoming a physical therapist, Thynes will begin his freshman year of college wrestling by studying kinesiology.
