Warriors Sit Alone Atop CCC Coaches’ Preseason Poll for First Time in Men’s Program History

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2025 Men's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll earlier today, where the Corban University Men's Cross Country program made history by earning the first top preseason poll position in team history after earning 128 voter points and five of the twelve first place votes available. After The College of Idaho raced to both the 2024 CCC Championship and NAIA National Championship titles, the Warriors will now hop the Yotes to open this upcoming fall season as the predicted regular season champions come November 7th.

"We are honored to be ranked number one in the CCC preseason poll but know that the season has not even begun yet and we have a lot of hard work ahead of us," Corban associate head coach Stuart Eagon shared earlier today. "By the grace of God, we've improved enough that we're able to be considered a contender for winning the most competitive cross country conferences in the NAIA. We will need to stay healthy as always, but we have a large recruiting class coming in and are very excited for what God has in store for the whole team this fall!"

Just three voter points allowed the Corban men's cross country team to take the top spot in this year's preseason poll, as C of I (125) received the same number of first place votes yet just a couple of placements on coaches' polls resulted in a major milestone for the Navy and Gold. Eastern Oregon University (116) received the final two first place votes to round out the top three programs in this year's CCC preseason poll.

A pair of perennial cross country programs in Lewis-Clark State College (107) and Southern Oregon University (97) trail the top three in fourth and fifth, respectively, with CCC newcomer Trinity Western University (77) making their NAIA debut this upcoming fall and sitting just above the halfway mark within the expected conference standings.

Following the Spartans was Northwest University (71), Oregon Tech (66), The Evergreen State College (55), and Bushnell University (40) to represent the top ten within the Cascade Conference, with Walla Walla University (28) and Warner Pacific University (20) concluding this year's preseason poll. This represents the Knights' first season back from their long-distance hiatus when the program was cut in the summer of 2021.

In addition to their top CCC ranking, the Warriors will have an opportunity to clinch their first regular season title in program history with "home field" advantage, as they're schedule to host the 2025 CCC Championships on Friday, November 7th at the Oak Knoll Golf Course in Independence, just 22 minutes from the foot of Corban's campus.

The Navy and Gold will make their first appearance in the 2025 regular season slate on Saturday, August 30th at the Lewis & Clark Opener, hosted by NCAA DIII Lewis & Clark College at the Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon. To view the Warriors' complete 2025 schedule, click HERE.
