Dinnall and Farr POY Awards Headline Corban Men’s Soccer’s Seven All-CCC Plaudits

LA GRANDE, Ore. – With junior forward Quamie Dinnall (May Pen, Jamaica) and sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Farr (Turner, Ore.) receiving the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards from the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) on Tuesday night, the Corban University men's soccer team garnered a CCC-best six All-CCC honorees on the First and Second Teams, while totaling seven award-winners in all.

The CCC Office announced the 2015 Men's Soccer All-Conference list and postseason award winners late on Tuesday evening following the CCC Soccer Championships Opening banquet.

Dinnall, who is currently tied for the lead in the NAIA with 18 total assists on the year, was voted the CCC Player of the Year and landed on the All-CCC First-Team thanks to his all-around efforts throughout the 2015 campaign. On top of his 18 assists, which was a mark that was six higher than the next highest individual in the conference in the category, also scored seven goals for Corban to rank first overall with 32 points. For Dinnall, it was his inaugural All-CCC award.

Farr, who boasts the second-best goals-against-average in the NAIA (0.30) and best mark in the CCC in the category, experienced a career-best year, leading the top-ranked Warrior defense to 13 total shutouts on the campaign. While stonewalling opposing team's forwards on a number of occasions, he made 44 saves with a CCC-best .898 save percentage. For Farr, it marks his first-ever CCC Defensive Player of the Year Award, and inaugural First-Team honor after having received Second-Team honors his freshman year in 2013.

On top of those two First-Team honorees, senior defender Tim Kagey (West Linn, Ore.) received First-Team All-CCC plaudits for his defensive efforts all year long. The 2014 CCC Defensive Player of the Year led this 2015 Warrior squad to a 0.29 overall goals-against-average on the year, ranking first overall in the NAIA. In addition, he dished out two assists offensively to help support the Warrior attack.

Landing on the All-CCC second team were senior defender James Williamson (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho), junior midfielder Kemar Prince (Kingston, Jamaica), and junior midfielder Armando Guevara (Salem, Ore.).

For Williamson, it marks his second-straight year on the All-CCC Second Team, while also having garnered First-Team accolades once during his career. He played an integral part in leading the top-ranked Warrior defense to a 0.29 goals-against-average on the year while consistently shutting down opposing team's forwards. Additionally, he scored two game-winning goals and dished out one assist on the year.

Prince is back on the All-CCC award page after collecting Newcomer of the Year honors just two years ago. Prince was a key piece of the Warrior midfield all year long that set the tone on the field, maintaining possession throughout the contests. He scored one goal and dished out one assist, and always provided a presence in the middle, breaking up opposing team's attacks.

Guevara, a newcomer to the Warriors this year, has definitely left his mark with six goals and three assists up to this point, scoring four game-winning goals for the Warriors. Most recently, he scored the game-winner against Northwest on October 30 for his sixth goal of the year.

The final award-winner was junior forward Nathaniel Cheney (Clarkston, Wash.), as Cheney landed on the All-CCC Honorable-Mention team for Corban. He actually led Corban with eight goals on the campaign while also totaling three assists for 19 total points. Three of his goals were game-winners as well. For Cheney, it is his second All-CCC honor in three years after landing on the All-CCC Second-Team during his rookie campaign.

No. 2-seeded Corban (16-2) is set to take on No. 7-seeded Northwest University (10-8) on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Springfield, Ore. in a CCC Tournament Quarterfinal matchup. In what is sure to be a hard-fought battle, live stats will be available here.
