SALEM, Ore. – The No. 9 story from the 2015-16 school year for Corban Warrior Athletics came from the classroom. Corban once again displayed its academic excellence, with Warriors across the board showing what it means to truly be a student-athlete.
Over the course of the course of the 2015-16 school year, Corban racked up 116 total Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference honorees and 49 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, leading the CCC in both categories. Corban is once again on pace to capture Presidents Cup honors for the 2015-16 year, showcasing the great student-athletes and academics that Corban offers. The Warriors are currently riding a three-peat in the Presidents Cup, having won the award for three-straight years.
On top of all of those areas of academic excellence from individuals, all 13 Corban Warrior teams are on pace to receive NAIA Scholar-Team status for the second-straight year.
Additionally, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) honor the top student-athletes from in the country based on not only their performance on the field, but their efforts in the classroom. Corban racked up 13 CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees during the 2015-16 school year, and of those 13, four collected CoSIDA Academic All-America plaudits. CoSIDA Academic All-America awards are the most prestigious academic honor an individual can receive in collegiate athletics.

On top of all of these academic awards that Corban received over the course of the 2015-16 year, Kellen Luey was named the recipient of the A.O. Duer Scholarship award, honoring the top student-athlete in the country based on scholarship, character, citizenship, and playing ability. Luey became the first student-athlete in school history to receive the esteemed award from the NAIA.
