Erika McCarthy joined the Corban coaching staff in 2023 to co-lead the throwers squad with her husband, Sean. They have coached high school throws together locally at McNary High School from 2016-2023 before transitioning to coaching for the Warriors.
Erika graduated with a biology degree from Northwest Nazarene University in 2009, where she competed in throwing events for 4 years. Her main events were the indoor weight and hammer throw, claiming the GNAC title in the hammer in 2009. She went on to become a physician assistant and still practices medicine as well as teaches physician assistant students.
She is excited to be coaching the Warriors’ throwers because of the passion, talent, faith, and character of the athletes. “Coaching these athletes has already been a fun and rewarding opportunity, and I can’t wait to see these hard-working athletes compete for some big marks this year!”
Erika and Sean have been married for 15 years and have 3 kids, Everette, Justus, and Elsie, with another on the way this spring. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, bake, and grow flowers.
