The Athletic Training room is located inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center across from the men's locker room. Corban's Athletic Training room offers student-athletes quality medical care, which includes therapeutic modalities, exercise equipment, whirlpool treatment, ice and heat. The Athletic Training room, weight room and fitness center are in close proximity to service all rehabilitation needs. Jenny Garrard, M.S.

Garrard was promoted to the role of Corban University Head Athletic Trainer in the winter of 2022. She joined the Corban University staff in February 2009 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She has been a certified athletic trainer since 2005 and attained both an undergraduate and a graduate degree from Oregon State University. Garrard earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine in 2005 and 2011, respectively. 

Prior to becoming a Warrior, Garrard worked at Linfield College during the 2007-2008 school year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Instructor.

Garrard has also spent time volunteering at the USA Track & Field National Championships, Olympic Trials, and World Championship events held in the state.

Married to her husband James, the couple has four daughters Lara, Thea, Renee, and Mariah.

Garrard enjoys singing, reading, running, and playing with her kids. She sings on the worship team at her church and sometimes, Garrard even sings the National Anthem at Warrior events.  She currently resides in Salem.

Erich Steinmetz, M.S.

Steinmetz originally joined the Corban University athletic training staff in August of 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was hired on a full-time basis as the Assistant Athletic Trainer in the winter of 2022. He attained his undergraduate in 2005 from Oregon State University and his masters in sports medicine in 2018 from University of Western States. 

Steinmetz also serves as a Practicum Supervisor for University of Western States Master’s in Sports Medicine Program and has acquired many years of experience working within chiropractic sports medicine clinics.

He has volunteered for USA Track and Field working the Olympic Trials and the Prefontaine Classic. Additionally, he volunteers for Maccabi USA where he was part of the sports medicine team for the Pan Am Maccabi Games in 2019 in Mexico City, and was a member of the sports medicine team for the Maccabiah Games in Israel in July 2022..

Steinmetz resides in West Salem with his wife Rhonda and two children, Isaac and Raquel.
