SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The 12th-ranked Corban University men's soccer team played maybe its best game of the year at the most important time of the year, defeating Northwest University in a Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament Quarterfinal on Wednesday, 4-0. Thanks to another bicycle kick goal from freshman forward Nic Farr (Turner, Ore.) and a 40-yard free-kick 'goalazo' from junior midfielder Kemar Prince (Kingston, Jamaica), the Warriors scored two goals in each half en route to the dominating win over the Eagles.

"The performance today confirmed again that this team is currently playing its best soccer of the year," said Corban men's soccer head coach Aaron Lewis. "They played with a rhythm today that created significant momentum going forward. If we can sustain that momentum, to go along with our defensive mentality, this post season has a chance to be special."
Corban played as the No. 2 seed in the CCC Tournament Quarterfinal based on the 2015 regular-season standings, while Northwest was the No. 7 seed.
After a back and forth start that saw both sides generate a couple of chances, Farr did was he does best, scoring a bicycle kick from about 12 yards out in the 19th minute, giving the Warriors a 1-0 advantage. For Farr, it is his second bicycle-kick goal of the 2015 campaign.
Later on in the half, sophomore midfielder Travez Whyte (Kingston, Jamaica) got in behind the defense and touched his shot past the goalkeeper in the 40th minute, doubling Corban's lead going into the break. For Whyte, it was his first-career goal for the Warriors.
Following the halftime talk, the Warriors did not let up, and junior forward Bobby Hutchin (Vancouver, Wash.) got around the right edge and played a perfectly-weighted ball back across the box to junior forward Quamie Dinnall (May Pen, Jamaica), and Dinnall made no mistake, one-timing his shot past the goalkeeper and into the goal to make it 3-0.
Then, on what will be up for goal of the year for the Warriors, Prince curled a 40-yard firecracker in the 66th minute over the wall and off the left-post and in, giving Corban an insurmountable 4-0 advantage.
From that point on, everyone got involved in helping to secure the shutout, as the Warriors registered their 14th goose egg of the 2015 season. Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Farr (Turner, Ore.) played 85 minutes for the Warriors, making two saves in the triumph.
Overall, the Warriors outshot the Eagles, 15-11. With the win, Corban finished the year with a 2-0 record against Northwest, with both wins coming in the last two weeks.
Lewis and N. Farr talked about the win following the match in a post-game interview:
Corban (17-2) is now set to take on the University of Great Falls tomorrow in the 2015 CCC Tournament Semifinals, with the winner advancing to the Tournament Championship match on Saturday. Kickoff at the Willamalane Complex is set for 4 p.m.
