"I'm very proud of our group today," said Corban head coach Abigail Farler. "They fought hard all day and played with a lot of energy. Rachel did a great job of throwing in relief for us, and Sabrina had a great day as well. Offensively, we had great production out of a lot of our hitters."
Corban was aggressive in the first inning and scored a pair of runs to take the advantage in game one, and in the third, Iris Rodriguez ripped an RBI single up the middle to score two Warrior runners and push the lead eventually to 5-0.
Then in the fifth after a Taylor Eilders two-RBI single to left field to make it 7-0, Isham stepped up to the dish and crushed a pitch over the left-field wall with the bases juiced, ending the ballgame on the play.
Isham finished the game 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored in the win for Corban. Maddy Melton went 3-for-4 for the Navy and Gold with three runs scored, while Ashleigh Lynch added a pair of hits for the Warriors.
In the circle, Sabrina Boyd went the distance, throwing all five innings in the complete-game shutout. For Boyd, it was her 14th complete game and fourth complete-game shutout. She gave up just six hits while striking out three in the victory.
For C of I, both Courtney Ellis and Kristin Paulazzo recorded two hits in the defeat.
Game two saw the Yotes jump all over the Warriors in the first inning, scoring four runs. Delaney Atkins had the big hit of the inning for C of I with a two-RBI single to right field.
Corban came back in the third inning by scoring five runs to take the lead. Both Sam Woodley and Chaleigh Kirkwood ripped two-RBI hits for the Warriors in the frame.
Corban would make it 6-4 in the fourth, but Destiny Turner homered for C of I in the fifth, and then the Yotes added one more later in the inning to tie the game up at 6-6.
The Warriors answered right back with one run in the bottom half of the frame on an RBI fielder's choice from Aubrene Blas, and that run proved to be the game-winner in the one-run triumph.
Rachel White tossed four key innings in relief for the Warriors, giving up just five hits and two runs, only one of which was earned. Boyd then came on to pitch the sixth and seventh innings, shutting the door on the Yotes to earn her first save of the season.
At the plate, Melton and Woodley both went 3-for-4 in the victory, while Blas added a pair of hits for Corban.
For the Yotes, Turner went 4-for-4 at the dish, marking her first-ever four-hit game and her 60th career multi-hit game with C of I.
Corban (32-6, 17-3 CCC) returns to action against the Yotes (15-18, 11-9 CCC) on Saturday for a Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) game at 11 a.m. and then a non-conference game at 1 p.m. Live stats and live video are set to be available on Warrior TV.
