UPDATED BRACKET

"Tonight was an all-around solid performance out of the entire team," said Corban head coach Abigail Farler. "Sabrina threw a great game, the defense made some outstanding plays, and offensively we had production out of everyone. It was a fun game to be a part of because we played with so much energy!"

Sabrina Boyd was in a zone on Monday evening, tossing a complete-game shutout for the Warriors in the circle, going the distance while dispersing five hits. She also struck out five batters, just one short of her season-best mark. For Boyd, it was her 21st complete game of the year and her sixth complete-game shutout on the season.

The Warriors got on the board in the second after Sam Woodley led the inning off with a single. Eventually on second base, Paige Martin brought her home with an RBI single to right field, making it a 1-0 ballgame.

Taylor Eilders led off inning number three with a double to left-center, and she eventually came in to score when Jessie Isham blasted a laser off of the wall in left-center, making it 2-0. Isham came around to score later in the inning when Woodley provided a sacrifice fly to make it a three-run lead for the Warriors.

Corban's bats stayed hot at the plate and the Warriors tacked on two more runs in the fourth. The big hit of the frame came when Taylor Eilders ripped an RBI single down the left-field line.

In the fifth inning, Boyd struck out the side defensively, and in the sixth and seventh innings, the Warrior defense shined, highlighted by a diving catch by Maddy Melton in right field. Corban closed the door on the Cougars, resulting in the shutout victory for the Warriors.

Corban totaled 11 hits to just five for Columbia. The Cougars drop into the loser's bracket and will face off against another Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) foe in Southern Oregon University. First pitch of that game is slated for 4 p.m. EST.

Offensively for the Warriors, Eilders, Iris Rodriguez, Woodley, and Martin all tallied two hits apiece in the victory. Isham and Boyd talked about the win following the game:

Corban, remaining in the winner's bracket, will take on Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. EST. Live stats and live video will be available. And for anyone back in Salem who wants to watch the contest for free can do so in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center classroom at 4 p.m. PST at the official watch party.
