STAYTON, Ore. – The Corban University Softball team fell victim to stellar gameplay of No. 14-ranked Eastern Oregon University for the second-straight day, as the Mountaineers used three massive innings of offense to clinch the series sweep via 8-0 and 5-1 final scores.
"Today was a better day," Warriors' head coach Danyelle Huber began with sharing. "Piece by piece, the girls are stepping up and starting to take advantage of their opportunities and come more together as a team."
GAME 1 – #14 EOU 8, CRB 0 (5 Innings)
Eastern Oregon (13-3, 5-1) picked up right where they left off in yesterday's doubleheader sweep, scoring eight runs in the first three innings with back-to-back four-run frames, resulting in a run-rule victory in the final conference contest of the four-game series against the Warriors (1-17, 0-6).

GAME 2 – #14 EOU 5, CRB 1
The Corban offense finally came through in the first three innings of the series finale this afternoon, as they scored the opening run in the bottom of the first inning thanks to an RBI groundout by redshirt sophomore first baseman Madelyn Robinson, who hit a soft line chopper to the Mountaineers' starting pitcher that allowed Redman to skirt home from third base.
In the bottom of the third frame, the Navy and Gold loaded the bases thanks to back-to-back singles and a walk but was halted with no outs after relief pitcher Kylie Parsons came in and induced a double play ball and strikeout to end the threat.
After holding the nationally ranked Eastern Oregon lineup scoreless for the first four innings, the Mountaineers finally awoke on offense in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs to take a four-run lead, which would eventually hold to secure the series sweep for the first time in EOU program history over Corban.
