CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between October 12th and 18th, where Corban University Men's Cross Country standout senior Jack Gladfelter was honored with his first CCC Men's Runner of the Week award of the 2026 season while also claiming the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association's (USTFCCCA) National Runner of the Week award for the second time in his impressive long distance career.

"Jack's performance on Saturday might very well be one of the fastest times ever ran by a small college student-athlete in Oregon history," explained Gladfelter's head coach Stuart Eagon. "We are very proud of the way Jack continues to work hard, and it shows in his performances. He helped lead a giant prayer with hundreds of athletes following the meet on Saturday, and his heart for Jesus continues to show through in how he leads not only our team, but athletes from schools across the region."
Gladfelter earned the honors after delivering one of the finest performances in program history at the Warriors' final regular-season meet of 2026. Competing against a loaded field featuring NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, and unattached competition, the senior crossed the finish line first in the 8,000-meter race with a school-record time of 23:26.0, becoming the individual champion among nearly 400 competitors.
The victory marked another milestone in an already remarkable career for Gladfelter, who shattered his own previous Corban program record while continuing to establish himself as one of the NAIA's premier distance runners. His winning effort outlasted a field filled with regional and national contenders, providing a tremendous boost for the Warriors as they prepare for postseason competition.
The conference honor represents Gladfelter's latest recognition within the CCC, while the national award places him atop all NAIA men's cross country runners for the week. The USTFCCCA distinction recognizes the top performance nationwide across the NAIA ranks and underscores the significance of Gladfelter's record-setting run.
With the regular season now complete, Gladfelter and the No. 23-ranked Warriors will turn their attention toward the CCC Championships on November 6th at the LC State Cross Country Trail in Lewiston, Idaho, where Corban will look to carry momentum from the senior's championship-winning effort into the postseason and hoping to claim one of the NAIA's bids to the National Championship meet later next month.
