BILLINGS, Mont. – The Corban University men's soccer team wrapped up its 2026 season Saturday afternoon, falling 2-1 to No. 8-ranked Rocky Mountain College at Wendy's Field. The Warriors battled against one of the nation's top teams, with junior midfielder Christ Ramirez scoring Corban's lone goal in the second half. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Rylan Davidson also turned in a strong performance, recording five saves across 90 minutes.
"Although we fell short today, I'm proud of the way the guys played, especially against such a top team. It's unfortunate to not have made the postseason, but I'm excited to build on this year and am already counting down the days to August," said Corban head coach Jordan Keegan.
Rocky Mountain (12-0-3, 10-0-1) opened the scoring just before halftime, as Fynn Sweeting found the back of the net at the 43:14 mark. Henry Chalkley assisted on the goal, giving the Battlin' Bears a 1-0 advantage heading into the break. The Battlin' Bears extended their lead in the 54th minute when Antonio Morales scored at 53:22 off an assist from Rory O'Donnell, putting Corban behind 2-0.
The Warriors continued to battle and found an answer in the 78th minute. Ramirez scored at 77:31 after an errant pass from RMC allowed him to chip shot over the head of Battlin' Bears' goalkeeper Anton Wilms to cut the deficit to one and give Corban a chance to find an equalizer in the closing minutes. However, Rocky Mountain held off the Warriors' late push to secure the 2-1 victory.
Rocky Mountain finished with a 17-6 advantage in shots, including a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. Sweeting led the Battlin' Bears with three shots and one goal, while Andrija Antunovic recorded a team-high five shots. Davidson finished with five saves in goal for the Warriors. Ramirez led Corban offensively with two shots, including one on target and the team's lone goal.
The Warriors conclude their 2026 campaign following Saturday's loss at 5-5-4 overall and 2-5-4 in conference play and will finish tied for 10th in the CCC standings with The Evergreen State College. Although Corban fell short of reaching the postseason, the team will look to build on their experiences under first-year head coach Jordan Keegan and return stronger when preparations begin for the 2027 season next summer.
