2024: An transfer student from Siskiyou’s Community College, Chavez appeared in 31 games and started in 25…Chavez had 8 hits, 3 stolen bases, and successfully scored 5 times for the Warriors…The junior catcher had secured a fielding percentage of .919… Member of the 2024 Corban Softball squad that finished 4-42 overall and 2-25 in CCC contests for a tenth-place finish in the conference standings. The program had 14 student-athletes named to Academic All-Conference honors, along with nine NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2024 season.
Personal: One of three transfers to Salem from the College of the Siskiyous out of the California Community College Athletic Association, Chavez appeared in 25 contests last season with 47 plate appearances both behind the plate and in the outfield, all while maintaining a .978 fielding percentage. She was a three-time President’s List award winner with the Eagles that carried over from her academic success at Modoc. While in high school, Chavez was named a two-time All-Conference student-athlete and Rookie of the Year in her freshman debut.
Chavez enters her junior season in the midst of working towards a degree in criminal justice.
