Biography

2025: Competed in 3 meets this season for the Warriors…Recorded a personal best 6k time of 21:11.1 at the Ash Creek Festival and 17:44.8 for the 5k at the 2025 Lewis & Clark XC Opener…Warkentin recorded a time of 29:52.5 for the 8k race at the Linfield George Oja Invitational…Member of the 2025 Corban Men’s Cross Country team that placed fifth overall at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships, highlighted by two top-six individual finishes and All-Conference honors. The team also produced two All-Americans at the NAIA National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida, along with the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year.

2024: Fastest personal 8k time for the season was marked 30:36:69 at the CCC Preview meet…Member of the 2024 Corban Men’s Cross Country team that landed fourth overall at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships where they had two individual top ten finishes crowned as All-Conference runners and sent them to the NAIA National Championships in Columbia, Missouri. The team was also awarded CCC Team of the Week honors.

Personal: Another local prodigy for Coach Bos and the Warriors, Warkentin was a household name for Salem Academy supporters, as he was named the Crusader Athlete of the Year after finishing his senior year as a three-sport athlete in football, track & field, and swimming. He was a Peak Performance and Junior Olympic Championship participant in a handful of events, including the 2k steeplechase, 5,000m, and 1,500m races, where he finished top ten regionally on numerous occasions.

Expected to pursue a degree in business, Warkentin hopes to one day serve as a firefighter or paramedic.
