Personal: Winans competed in both basketball and golf at South Medford High, where his golf team finished second in conference play and qualified for the state tournament. The freshman participated in US Junior Kids Tournaments and OGA Tournaments as a youth. Benjamins joins his father as collegiate athletes produced from the Winan family.

Winans plans to join the Education program with the goals of becoming a PE Teacher.
