Corbin Bowers was hired as the Corban Men’s Soccer Head Coach entering the 2023-24 school year in May of 2023. He was selected out of a large pool of qualified applicants that all sought to become the next leader of one of the NAIA’s most successful men’s soccer programs.

Born in Quito, Ecuador, and originally from Bogota, Colombia, Bowers grew up in South America as a child of Christian missionaries before making his way to the United States to pursue a college degree. Growing up both around the game of soccer and in environments where he was able to pick up English, Spanish, and Portuguese at the same time, he continued to play on a collegiate basis by joining the NCAA DII Anderson University (S.C.) men’s soccer team. He assisted the program in capturing a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) regular season title, two SAC Tournament championships, and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in his playing career.

Following his graduation from Anderson in the spring of 2015, Bowers accepted an offer to become the Trojans’ Director of Operations for the next year, where the program posted a 7-4 conference record and secured another trip to the postseason.

Bowers officially began his coaching career in the fall of 2016 at NCAA DIII Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs. After just one season with the Cardinals, he was promoted to the head coaching position on the men’s soccer program, which he has held since the end of the 2017-18 school year.

Bowers spent the second highest amount of time of any head coach in school history as the program’s leader both on and off the field, placing third all-time in win percentage among those who spent at least five seasons in the trademark Saint Mary’s red and navy colors. He coached 15 All-Conference players, 22 Academic All-Conference student-athletes, 12 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District honorees, and one Academic All-American. In 2022, his team pledged 322 hours of community service to the Winona, Minnesota, area.

In 2021, Bowers was named a Co-Head Coach of Med City FC, a team that competes in the National Premier Soccer League. The team finished in second place of the Midwest region and with a final national ranking of No. 18. The team created three All-Conference players and one All-Region player.

“I am ecstatic about the opportunity to join Corban University as the next leader of the men’s soccer program,” Bowers shared. “My family and I are thrilled to arrive at a university that aligns with our faith and values. We firmly believe the mission of the University and the opportunities it will provide for us to influence the Corban community.”

When asked to speak on the program and the CCC, Bowers said, “I am honored to take over a program with a tradition of rich success in the CCC and the NAIA national stage. I am determined to provide an unparalleled student-athlete experience and ensure that Warrior men’s soccer pursues excellence on a daily basis. Thank you to the leadership of Corban University for providing me with this fantastic opportunity. I can’t wait to hit the ground running!”
