Danyelle Huber

Danyelle Huber was named the head coach of the Corban University softball team in the summer of 2021. Prior to that role, Huber served as the lead assistant coach on Corban’s staff in 2020-21, sharing in the oversight of the squad’s instruction, recruitment, data tracking, and planning.

In two seasons as the leader of the Warriors’ softball program, Huber has had three student-athletes selected to Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) All-Conference honors, multiple academic award winners in both the CCC and College Sports Communicators (CSC) organizations, and reached the postseason in the spring of 2022 by qualifying for the CCC Tournament as the sixth seed.

Before her time with the Navy and Gold, Huber enjoyed a highly successful coaching career at the high school level, making a name for herself with a pair of local programs. From 2013-2015, Huber served as the head coach of McKay High School, where she was named the Coach of the Year in 2014. She also coached at West Salem High School as an assistant coach from 2015-2020.

“I am blessed and thrilled to have such an amazing opportunity to be the head softball coach for Corban University,” said Huber. “Being able to continue to be a part of Corban softball with such a great group of girls, I could not be more excited to carry the firm foundation of softball that has already been established. As we look to the future, we are excited to come together, set goals, work hard, stay consistent, and strive towards accomplishing our goals by doing the small things to get there. Go Warriors!”

As a player, Huber was recruited to North Idaho College as a pitcher. She played one season with the Cardinals before an injury resulted in the young hurler to transfer to Walla Walla Community College where she played first base and made an impact in the top of the order. After her time in junior college came to an end, the eastern Washington native transferred to Western Oregon University to finish up her schooling and softball career. She is a big believer that her journey has directly impacted her success as a coach and makes her a well-rounded leader for the Navy and Gold.

Huber graduated from Western Oregon with her degree in social science and a minor in education. While she was the assistant coach at Corban, she enrolled in the MBA program and graduated with a Master of Business degree in 2021.

Huber resides in Salem with her husband Bryan and their three young children who, like their parents, are passionate about athletics.
