Liane Smith

Liane Smith (formerly DeHart) joined the Warrior Softball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2018 following an accomplished playing career during her four years as an undergraduate at Corban University.

During her time at Corban as an undergraduate, Smith led the Warriors to a conference championship in 2013 and a 123-69 overall record during her four-year career as an outfielder.  Offensively as a left-handed slap hitter, she tore up the base paths with Corban and owns the program’s single-season stolen-base record when she notched 39 in 2010.  For her career, Smith ranks second on the all-time list with 68 stolen bases.  In addition to her speed, she racked up the second-most runs scored in Corban history (110) and the third-most at-bats on the all-time list (501).

Smith graduated from Corban University in the spring of 2013 with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance.  Outside of softball, she was an active member on Corban’s Associated Student Body Executive Board serving at the Treasurer from 2011-2013.

During her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing sports with friends, serving at her church and in the community, reading, arts and crafts, and playing with animals.  She and her husband Tom currently attend Church on the Hill in Keizer and reside in Turner.
