Tony Dix joined the Corban Softball coaching staff in 2014.
Dix received his bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Willamette University. He then went on to earn his Masters in Teaching from Willamette in 2010.
Sticking to his alma mater roots, Dix began his coaching career at Willamette, as he served as the assistant softball coach for outfield and hitting in 2007. After leading the team to a 25-11 overall record in 2008, Dix worked in Iraq as a Security Specialist from 2009-10.
Dix returned to coaching in 2011 as the assistant baseball coach for the freshman team at West Salem High School. After returning to Willamette for two more seasons, he then became the assistant football coach at Woodburn High School in 2013 and the head coach of the Salem Buzz, a 16A-level club softball team.
In his four seasons at Willamette, Dix compiled an overall record of 80-67. He coached a total of eight Willamette athletes who received All-Conference honors in the Northwest Conference (NWC).
From 2001-2009, Dix served in the Oregon National Guard and earned Honorable Discharge. He led the guard as the E5 Sergeant. He took part in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003-04, and aided Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts in 2005.
Other than coaching softball, his hobbies include Crossfit, playing with his kids, traveling, and cooking.
Dix currently resides in Woodburn, Ore. with his wife Laura Dix, son Dominic, and daughter Ella. Laura is currently the pitching coach for the Warrior softball team.
