John Baker joined the Corban University track & field coaching staff in August of 2016.
Prior to Corban, he has served at Silverton High School for 10 years as a Shot/Discus coach up until 2014. Before that, he was the head cross country and track & field coach at Woodburn High School for 10 years. Before that, he served as the Shot/Discus coach at Woodburn High School for five years. Additionally, Baker has served as a basketball assistant coach at Woodburn high school on four different occasions.Â
Baker graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication in 1986.Â
During his free time, he enjoys going to comic cons, collecting comic books, collecting sports cards, and playing fantasy sports. He also loves history, traveling, writing, and music. He is married to his wife Donnadean and has two daughters named J'Nyssa and J'Dean and one son named J'Rrett. He and his wife live in Silverton.
