A versatile high school athlete who competed in four different sports, Silbernagel is well-suited for the track. Competing for nearby Regis High School, he placed sixth at the district finals in the 400-meters. He has participated in several different events on the track, including the 4x100-meter relay, the 4x400-meter relay, the 200-meter dash, and his primary event, the 400-meter dash.
