The program set new all-time records for most dual wins (10), highest winning percentage for a single season (.714), most team points in a single tournament (153.0) and holds the best all-time coaching record (16-7). In addition, the team had their highest finish in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll (13th) and finished in eighth place at the NAIA National Championships for their best finish in program history.
2023-2024: A senior member of the men’s wrestling squad…Rubio competed in 30 matches at 174 pounds…He completed the season with an overall record of 28 wins and 2 losses…Rubio, with 34 wins has the 2nd most single season wins with 34 wins…He is tied for 8th most single season pins with 8 pins and the third highest win percentage in single season at .895…With 76 wins, Rubio holds the 1st place position for career wins…The senior currently has the 2nd most career pins with 19 pins…Rubio also currently holds the 2nd highest career win percentage at .853…NAIA All-American…NAIA National Championship Runner Up…CCC Academic All-Conference… Member of the 2023-24 Corban Men’s Wrestling program that completed the most successful season of competition since the inaugural season back in 2019-20. The team qualified six student-athletes for the 2024 NAIA National Championships, with yet another NAIA All-American title being earned via a runner-up finish in the 157-weight class. The program set new all-time records for most dual wins (6), fewest dual losses (3), best winning percentage for a single season (.667), most consecutive dual wins (5), and most team points in a single tournament (91.5). In addition, the team tied their highest finish in the NAIA Top 20 Coaches’ Poll (24th), and finished in the top 20 at the NAIA National Championships for their best finish in program history.
2022-23: Was a redshirt sophomore member of the 2022-23 Corban squad that crowned an individual CCC Champion and sent four wrestlers to the NAIA National Tournament. Finished with an overall record of 23-2, becoming champion of his weight class for the Cascade Collegiate Conference. CCC All-Conference selection and National Tournament Qualifier, Bartlett finished runner-up in at the 2023 NAIA National Championships scoring 16.0 team points for the Warriors…
2021-22: Was a third-year member of the 2021-22 Warrior men’s wrestling squad. Rubio was outstanding this season as he competed in 19 matches this season at 165… He went 16-3 (W-L) overall on the season and competed in the NAIA Championship. Rubio finished at 5th place in the tournament, making him the program’s highest-ever placer at the national tournament. Rubio was granted a NAIA All-American status…
2019: Was a member of the inaugural Warrior men’s wrestling squad that sent two wrestlers to the NAIA National Championships and earned one individual CCC title… Competed unattached in three matches, finishing the season with a 1-2 (W-L) record…
Personal: Rubio comes from McKay High School, where he started wrestling during his freshman year. He was a District and State Champion for the Scots and a two-time state placer, and a junior freestyle All-American this summer.
Rubio intends to study criminal justice while attending Corban, with hopes of serving his community as a police officer.
