Biography

2024-2025: A sophomore member of the Corban men’s wrestling program…Competed in 3 matches this season for the navy and gold at 184 pounds with an overall record of 0 wins and 3 losses…Member of the 2024-25 Corban Men’s Wrestling program that finished third at the CCC Championships, with two CCC Weight Class Champions. The team qualified nine student-athletes for the 2025 NAIA National Championships, with 3 NAIA All-American titles, with one of them being Corban’s first individual national champion in the 157- weight class. The program set new all-time records for most dual wins (10), highest winning percentage for a single season (.714), most team points in a single tournament (153.0) and holds the best all-time coaching record (16-7). In addition, the team had their highest finish in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll (13th) and finished in eighth place at the NAIA National Championships for their best finish in program history.

2023-2024: A freshman member of the men’s wrestling squad…Rubio competed in 21 matches at 174 pounds…He completed the season with an overall record of 11 wins and 10 losses… Member of the 2023-24 Corban Men’s Wrestling program that completed the most successful season of competition since the inaugural season back in 2019-20. The team qualified six student-athletes for the 2024 NAIA National Championships, with yet another NAIA All-American title being earned via a runner-up finish in the 157-weight class. The program set new all-time records for most dual wins (6), fewest dual losses (3), best winning percentage for a single season (.667), most consecutive dual wins (5), and most team points in a single tournament (91.5). In addition, the team tied their highest finish in the NAIA Top 20 Coaches’ Poll (24th), and finished in the top 20 at the NAIA National Championships for their best finish in program history.

Personal: Younger brother of Warriors' All-American and CCC Champion David Rubio, Jesse arrives to Corban's campus with an opportunity to continue the Rubio legacy and wrestle alongside his brother for at least the upcoming season. As a state placer and conference champion himself while at McKay High School, Jesse looks to elevate the Warriors to an even higher level of competition.

The second Rubio to join the Navy and Gold will be pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with the hopes of becoming an athletic trainer.
