Biography
2024-2025: A senior member of the Corban men’s wrestling squad…Vasquez competed in 4 matches this season for the navy and gold at 157 pounds…Completed the season with an overall record of 1 win and 3 losses…Member of the 2024-25 Corban Men’s Wrestling program that finished third at the CCC Championships, with two CCC Weight Class Champions. The team qualified nine student-athletes for the 2025 NAIA National Championships, with 3 NAIA All-American titles, with one of them being Corban’s first individual national champion in the 157- weight class. The program set new all-time records for most dual wins (10), highest winning percentage for a single season (.714), most team points in a single tournament (153.0) and holds the best all-time coaching record (16-7). In addition, the team had their highest finish in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll (13th) and finished in eighth place at the NAIA National Championships for their best finish in program history.
2023-2024: A junior member of the men’s wrestling squad…Vasquez competed in 7 matches at 149 pounds…He completed the season with an overall record of 1 win and 7 losses… Member of the 2023-24 Corban Men’s Wrestling program that completed the most successful season of competition since the inaugural season back in 2019-20. The team qualified six student-athletes for the 2024 NAIA National Championships, with yet another NAIA All-American title being earned via a runner-up finish in the 157-weight class. The program set new all-time records for most dual wins (6), fewest dual losses (3), best winning percentage for a single season (.667), most consecutive dual wins (5), and most team points in a single tournament (91.5). In addition, the team tied their highest finish in the NAIA Top 20 Coaches’ Poll (24th), and finished in the top 20 at the NAIA National Championships for their best finish in program history.
2022-23: Was a sophomore member of the 2022-23 Corban squad that crowned an individual CCC Champion and sent four wrestlers to the NAIA National Tournament. Redshirted the 2022-2023 season…
2021-22: First year member of the 2022-21 Warrior men’s wresting squad. Vasquez competed in 13 total matches this season in the 133-weight class… He finished with a 3-10 (W-L) record in his first season.
Personal: An incoming freshman from nearby Woodburn, Ore., Vasquez brings a strong resume to Corban. Having been a state champion in his junior year at Woodburn HS, and being the runner-up in his sophomore and senior campaigns, he has great experience with winning on the mat. He also participated in soccer during his prep years.
Vasquez will study Business upon arrival at Corban.
