Kary Hadden

Kary Hadden joined the Warrior men’s wrestling coaching staff alongside head coach Keegan Davis for the program’s inaugural season in 2019-20. Hadden is viewed as a wrestling icon in the greater Salem area for his contributions to the spot in the mid-Willamette Valley.

After his own wrestling career at NCAA Division I Oregon State University, Hadden coached for four years as an assistant at North Salem High School before launching into a 25-year career as the head coach at Sprague High School. Some of the accomplishments Hadden accrued during that time are listed below:

·         16 conference team titles

·         17 top-10 team finishes

·         74 individual placers at the Oregon State Championships

·         12 individual Oregon State Champions

·         Five high school All-Americans

For his outstanding leadership, Hadden was named the Conference Coach of the Year on 11 separate occasions, the State Coach of the Year three times, and the Sectional Coach of the Year once. He was inducted into the Oregon National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013.

Hadden graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University in 1983, earning his Master’s degree from Western Oregon University in 1990.
