Kelly Holding is in her second season as the jumps and hurdle coach at Corban University. She has over 35 years of coaching experience, including 12 years as the head coach at Damascus Christian School (DCS) where her teams won seven team state championships. She coached her DCS athletes to 63 individual state championships and multiple state records. Coach Holding is a six-time Oregon Athletic Coaches Association Track and Field Coach of the Year.
In her three years at former Warner Pacific College, now Warner Pacific University, Holding's athletes earned four NAIA All-American titles in the long and triple jump. As an NAIA All-American high jumper and national qualifying hurdler for Central Washington University, Holding has a deep knowledge of the jumping and hurdling events. She holds three USATF Level 2 coaching certificates, which include the jumps, sprints, hurdles and relays as well as youth specialization.
Kelly has also coached the horizontal jumps and high jump at Mt Hood Community College for eight seasons, coaching five individual conference champions. She does private coaching of individual athletes in the jumps and hurdles at the high school, collegiate and USATF Junior Olympic level.
Holding lives in Boring, Oregon, with her husband, Jim, and has three daughters with eight grandchildren in total.
