Marty Ziesemer became the head women's soccer coach at Corban University in 1996.

In 2013, Ziesemer and the Warriors returned to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament for the first time in two seasons as the No. 3 seed despite finishing in a two-way tie with Northwest in the runner-up position. Ziesemer and Corban compiled a win-loss record of 11-6-3 that included a 6-2-2 mark in CCC games. With a win over Evergreen on October 10th, Ziesemer became the 13th active coach in the NAIA to surpass the 200-win plateau.

For his efforts, Ziesemer was named the 2013 CCC Co-Coach of the Year marking the third time during his career that he has been named one of the best coaches in the CCC. In 2014, Ziesemer led Corban to a third-place finish in the regular season and a berth in the CCC Tournament semifinals.

During his time as head coach of the Warriors, Ziesemer has helped lead Corban to the NAIA regional tournament in seven of eight seasons that included a runner-up finish in 2002.
Ziesemer and the Warriors have regularly received votes in the NAIA top-25 poll during his tenure, including a program-best No. 27-ranking in the 2002 preseason poll. His teams have had three second-place finishes at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) championships, while capturing two Cascade Collegiate Conference titles in 1996 and 1999. Marty was named the NCCAA Coach of the Year twice (2000 & 2002), while earning conference Coach of the Year honors in 1998, 2009, & 2013.

The 1991 graduate of Corban took over in 1996, after the new program had notched just two victories in its first three years of existence. Since taking the reins,
Ziesemer has posted a 215-167-22 career coaching record that ranks in the Top 15 all-time in NAIA history. In Cascade Collegiate Conference play, Ziesemer has compiled a record of 137-51-9 to rank 2nd all-time in victories.

A four-year letterman and captain of the men’s soccer team during his playing days,
Ziesemer’s 2002 squad notched a program-best 19-8 record and advanced to the championship of the NAIA Region I tournament for the first time. In 2010, Ziesemer’s squad set the all-time single season winning percentage mark going 17-6-0 (.739) overall and also finished fourth at the NCCAA national tournament in Florida.

Through athletics,
Ziesemer sees first hand the opportunity Corban offers. “Corban’s influence can take students out of their comfort zones and bring them to grow and be challenged in a great way.”

Away from work,
Ziesemer enjoys reading. He and his wife, Cindy, reside in Salem with their two children – Shannon and Daniel. Ziesemer and his family currently attend Emmanuel Bible Church.
