BOX SCORE

EUGENE, Ore.
- In their final match of the 2010 season, Corban swept conference rival Northwest Christian (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) Saturday inside the Morse Event Center. Seniors Teri Braun (Dallas, Ore.) and Heather Anderson (Corbett, Ore.) suited up for the last time as Warriors, combining to register seven kills.

Sophomore Chandra Baskoro (Gresham, Ore.) led the Warriors with team-highs of 13 kills and 12 digs. Baskoro was aided by junior Tiffany Land (Independence, Ore.)'s eight kills, while junior Megan Dees (Tehachapi, Calif.) registered 19 assists.

In the opening set, Corban responded from a 5-0 deficit with six straight points capped off by a Braun kill. Jockeying for position, Corban and Northwest traded points until a 16-all tie. Baskoro broke the deadlock and Corban never trailed again, winning 25-19 on Anderson's service ace.

The second set saw a rejuvenated Corban squad jump out to a 15-8 lead. Freshman Bailey Wold (Spokane, Wash.), Baskoro, and Land combined for five kills in the early going and continued to pay dividends throughout the set. However, Northwest climbed back into the match on an 11-6 run, pulling the match to 21-20 with Corban maintaining a one point advantage. In a precarious situation, Baskoro and Land responded to the challenge and pushed Corban over the top to take the set, 25-22, closing out play on Land's kill.

In the final set of the night, Corban fell behind a surging Beacon team who built an early 10-3 lead. A series of Northwest errors and timely service aces by sophomore Jenny Harman (Salem, Ore.) brought Corban back to the surface and started a rally that saw the Warriors swing the momentum on a 16-6 run. A 21-all tie faded on Braun's final kill as a Warrior, seeing Corban close out the set, 25-22, on Land's eighth kill of the night.

Northwest Christian was led by senior Cassie Bishop's nine kills. Freshman Cori Wallace added 21 assists to go along with senior Brigit Marasigan's 11 digs.

With tonight's win, Corban concludes their season at 11-9 overall and finishes tied for fifth place in Cascade Collegiate Conference with an even 9-9 record in CCC action. Meanwhile, Northwest Christian falls to 11-19 overall and 3-15 in league play. The Warriors will return to the court once again next season, beginning in August 2011.
