Senior David Anderson posted the highest finish by an individual, as Corban's men's track & field team closed out competition Saturday at the Pacific Twilight.

Anderson Leads Warriors at Pacific Twilight

FINAL RESULTS

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Senior David Anderson (Salem, Ore.) finished second in the 400 meter hurdles to lead the Warriors, as Corban's men's track & field team concluded competition Saturday at the 4th annual Pacific Twilight at Lincoln Stadium.

Anderson posted a time of 55.91 seconds to lead a trio of Warriors that included sophomore Seth James (Snyder, Colo.) and freshman Chris McGehee (Jefferson, Ore.), as the aforementioned duo finished eighth and 23rd, respectively, with times of 58.00 and 1:04.76.

Senior Ben Search (Battle Ground, Wash.) and junior Caleb Goins (Scio, Ore.) nearly qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 800 meter run, as Search missed the 'A' qualification time by just under three seconds posting a time of 1:56.46 and Goins turned in a time of 1:56.99 missing the 'B' qualifying time by just over two seconds. Sophomore David Brown (Meridian, Idaho) and freshman Josh Dyer (Tokatee, Ore.) also competed in the event finishing 41st and 51st overall thanks to a times of 2:04.42 and 2:22.56, respectively.

Three Warriors – freshman Zach Conlee (Milton-Freewater, Ore.), sophomore Taylor Wilkins (Milwaukie, Ore.), and freshman Kent Wilson (Bonney Lake, Wash.) – began the day for Corban in the discus, as Conlee finished 26th overall with a throw of 34.41 meters (112-feet, 11-inches) followed by Wilkins (29th - 33.15 meters) and Wilson (34th - 26.52 meters).

Wilkins would remain on the track for the high jump, as the second-year Warrior finished 20th overall clearing the bar at 1.70 meters (5-feet, 7-inches).

The potental decathlete, Wilkins, continued to compete in field events turning to the shot put, as he closed out the event in 25th place with a throw of 11.12 meters (36-feet, 5.75-inches). Along with Wilkins, Conlee and Wilson also competed in the event finishing 29th and 31st, respectively, with tosses of 10.88 meters (35-feet, 8.50-inches) and 10.62 meters (34-feet, 10.25-inches).

In Corban's first track event of the day, McGehee finished 30th in the 110 meter hurdles after posting a time of 20.62 seconds.

Sophomore Bryce Petersen (Salem, Ore.) would be the lone Warrior in the 400 meter dash, as he finished 18th overall thanks to a time of 52.27 seconds.

Moving onto the 100 meter dash, sophomore Joash Pangilinan (Honolulu, Hawaii) and sophomore Joseph Summers (Canby, Ore.) finished 31st and 37th, respectively, in times of 12.15 and 12.71 seconds.

In the 200 meter dash, Petersen and Summers closed out the individual events for the Warriors finishing 43rd and 48th, respectively, with times of 24.27 and 25.89 seconds.

The final event of the day for Corban would be the 4x400 meter relay, as the Warriors finished fifth overall thanks to a time of 3:25.32. The relay team consisted of Anderson, Search, James, and Goins.

Corban's men's track & field team closed out the regular season this weekend, as the Warriors will now begin training for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships that begin on Thursday, May 12th, at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham.
