Gladfelter Flies to Personal Best, Earns Second Career All-American Finish at NAIA National Championships

MARION, Ind. – For the second time in both his career and the 2024-25 school year, sophomore Jack Gladfelter of the Corban University Men's Track & Field program has been named an NAIA All-American after finishing within the top eight of the men's 10,000m race earlier this evening in central Indiana, as he broke his personal record to conclude the event in sixth overall and add another national accolade to his individual trophy case. To conclude the Warrior men's track & field team's 21st season of varsity action, Gladfelter became the tenth All-American and second overall for the 10,000m race with two seasons of competition still lying in wait for the Port Angeles, Washington native.

"We're very proud of how Jack performed today with his All-American finish," began Corban assistant coach Stuart Eagon when asked to discuss the program's most recent national honoree. "Jack came back very well this outdoor season after missing eight weeks of training during the winter. He is our seventh track distance/cross country All-American over the last three years and is our highest finisher in an outdoor track event since Rob Swoboda's national title in 2022. Jack has set himself up very well to be in contention for individual national championships in both cross country and track over the coming years after placing so high at national meets this year as an extremely competitive sophomore."

Gladfelter entered today's national championship race as the sixth overall seed and finished right at his expected result but with a new personal best time of 30:29.85 to improve upon his second-place career record within the men's 10,000m event for Corban program history. He kicked off the race in lane six and faded to just outside the top ten by the 2,400m mark, yet slowly but surely at each of the next 400-meter time stamps, passed up the student-athlete in front of him to reach third place overall before eventually settling for the sixth best finish in the country.

Within the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) competitors, Gladfelter finished third just seven tenths of a second behind two members of the three-headed cohort from The College of Idaho while besting the top runner from Southern Oregon University by nearly seven seconds. The CCC was responsible for five of the eight All-Americans in today's 10,000m national championship race.

Today's All-American status achieved by Gladfelter marks the tenth of the 2024-25 school year for the Corban athletic department, becoming the first Warrior to repeat after he finished eighth at the 2024 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships during the fall term. This upcoming Friday morning, redshirt junior Kayla Morgan will attempt to match Gladfelter's All-American award with one of her own in the women's high jump finals with an opportunity to earn the second of both her career and school year as well at 11am PT.
