ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The final day of the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships was a historic one for the Corban University Men's and Women's Track & Field programs, as the Warriors claimed three more All-American accolades while clinching a top 15 team finish on the men's side, the highest team placement by a Navy and Gold squad in school history. Additionally, one student-athlete became the first national runner-up in their respective event for Corban, while another became the first Warrior to earn multiple All-American accolades in a single national meet.

"Coming into the season, our men's team had the talent to score some points at the national meets," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos explained when asked to discuss the performances achieved this week by his student-athletes. "Of course, a lot of things need to fall your way during the course of the year in order for this to happen. It was able to happen at this meet with Jack and Oliver's All-American performances. We almost had a few more points that we left on the table as well, but the results of this meet were more than I could have ever asked for. It was a historic day and week for the track and field programs at Corban, and as Anthony likes to say when good things happen, 'praise the Lord'. Like most seasons, this season had its share of challenges and hardships. Thankfully, the Lord never wastes these opportunities to continue to teach and grow our athletes and coaches. We are grateful to Him for all the good and not so good, as it is all for His glory."
In her final collegiate appearance, redshirt senior Kayla Morgan added a fourth All-American honor to her impressive trophy case by finishing in a tie for eighth place in the women's high jump, setting a standard for future Warriors within a women's program that continues to grow and excel with each progressing school year. At the 1.67m mark, Morgan converted on her third and final attempt to clinch a top ten spot, eventually closing out her 2026 season by standing atop the podium alongside April Phillips from Evangel University (Mo.).
When asked to discuss the individual accomplishments secured today by his student-athletes, Bos shared, "Kayla started off our day by garnering another All-American award in the women's high jump. Despite harboring an injury during her entire final year of competition, she still performed well to earn her fourth All-American honor. She had to really 'clutch up' today and was able to clear 1.67m on her third attempt to finish eighth. She has left a wonderful legacy for our women's program."
After claiming a fifth place qualifying position in the men's 1,500m prelims on Wednesday, junior Braydon Lee was just outside of the All-American finishers today at the conclusion of the final heat, placing tenth with a 4:01.52 time. Among the 12-man heat, the first and last place finishers were all within three seconds of each other, demonstrating how competitive this year's event was from top to bottom.
"The tactical 1,500m was not to our advantage with Braydon today, but I still thought he ran a good race," began Warriors' associate head coach Stuart Eagon when asked to discuss the performance of his first long distance runner from today's order of events. "He was able to close in with a 56.1 final 400m after coming off a very slow opening pace. He was one second award from an All-American honor, which goes to show how hard he worked to make up for the pace of the group. In retrospect, we may have tried to force the pace a bit more over the first lap or two than we should have, but being in the mix still sets him up positively for a national title next year."
Entering as the No. 5-overall seed and looking to avenge a last second fall from All-American status in yesterday's long jump, sophomore Oliver Reis rose to the occasion in today's triple jump by clinching a top nine qualifier for the final heat, where he utilized his first jump of finals to soar into the national runner-up finish behind a 15.47m leap, a new outdoor personal record for the first year Warrior transfer. He's the first national runner-up in program history for a horizontal jump, where he earned his second All-American honor after placing eighth during the national indoor championships for the men's long jump last March.
Bos spoke on the performance of his national runner-up by stating, "Oliver's performance today was nothing short of excellence. He jumped his outdoor personal record and earned Corban's first All-American outdoor performance in the horizontal jumps. We're very proud of his athletic accomplishments in his first season as a Warrior."
The legacy of junior Jack Gladfelter continues to grow within the Corban men's cross country/track & field programs, as the Port Angeles native became the first Warrior to ever earn multiple All-American accolades in a single meet thanks to a sixth place finish in the men's 5,000m race after placing third in yesterday's grueling 10,000m. His 14:31.60 makes him one of two student-athletes to earn a season best mark in the event today, which simultaneously earned him a fourth All-American honor for the 2025-26 school year after securing the astonishing accolade in both the men's cross country and indoor track & field seasons as well. Nine team points scored by a single male Warrior is the second most ever in a national championship meet, trailing only Robert Swoboda's national championship performance that scored ten points in 2022.
Eagon capped off a successful season for his All-American standout in Gladfelter by sharing, "Jack ran a great race today. He only had 18 hours to recover from a competitive 10,000m race last night, so to come back and finish sixth against mostly fresh competitors at the top of the 5k race is very impressive. The two runners that beat Jack in the 10k last night paid a high price in today's event, which showed how honest the 10k was last night and makes Jack's performance more impressive that he was able to come back and finish sixth despite losing a full day of recovery due to the weather delays. Most of his opponents that ran the 10k had tired legs today, so it was impressive for him to compete the way he did for yet another All-American honor.
Today marks the highest finish ever by a Corban track & field team at the NAIA National Championships, with the men earning a 15th-overall placement thanks to the podium placements from Reis and Gladfelter. Today also represents the most team points scored in a single national meet, as the men secure 17 team points via Reis' national runner-up placement and Gladfelter's third and sixth place finishes in the men's 10,000m and 5,000m, respectively.
The final NAIA Learfield Cup standings will be released following the entirety of the spring championship season, where the Corban athletic department is expected to close out one of the most successful finishes in a single school year on a national scale. More information will be released on the Corban Athletic website once made available by the NAIA later this season.
