Gladfelter Garners Fifth Career All-American Honor, Reis Opens Horizontal Jumps for Corban Track & Field at National Meet

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – For a third time in the 2025-26 school year, a specific member of the Corban University Track & Field programs claimed an All-American accolade by the NAIA and USTFCCCA, as junior Jack Gladfelter claimed a third-place finish in the men's 10,000m race, while sophomore Oliver Reis finished ninth in the men's long jump for a successful pair of Warrior outings on day two of the 2026 NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by NCAA DII University of North Carolina-Asheville in western North Carolina.

"Jack ran a smart race tonight and finished right where we would've hoped and expected," shared Corban associate head coach Stuart Eagon shortly following Gladfelter's 10k performance. "The top two runners pulled away relatively early in the race, and it was exciting to see Jack almost run down the runner-up finisher down the stretch. Jack was one of the only athletes in the race to negative split his 5k times."

Eagon continued with his analysis of Gladfelter's race by stating, "Jack ran the same time as Rob Swoboda did in 2022 when he won the national title in the event. The conditions today were humid and similar to the 2022 race for Swoboda, but the main difference is that UNC-Asheville is at 2,300ft elevation, which definitely has an effect over time in the 10,000m race. We are not typically focused on time in championship races, but it shows that the NAIA continues to grow stronger and is exciting to see. God willing, this next year is going to be very exciting to see Jack and the rest of our student-athletes compete for more national championships!"

Looking to avenge his runner-up finish in 2025, Gladfelter handled the east coast humidity and higher elevation with determination and poise, eventually outworking the pack of ten runners that trailed the eventual defending national champion from the University of the Cumberlands and the runner-up finisher from Montreat College. He finished today's race with a 30:19.86 final time, moving from as far back as ninth at the 2,800m mark before claiming his eventual third place podium placement with seven laps remaining.

"Oliver came oh so close to snagging another All-American award today," explained Warriors' head coach Todd Bos regarding his jumper in action this afternoon. "The ninth-place jumper hit a big jump on his last attempt, and while Oliver also improved on his final jump, he ended up a few inches short. He'll have an opportunity to respond tomorrow in the triple jump."

After claiming All-American honors in the men's long jump during the indoor portion of his debut Warrior season, Reis finished the outdoor event just one placement shy of a second honor in ninth place overall after qualifying for the finals heat on his third leap. His most competitive event is still to come tomorrow morning for the Dubs, yet the first-year transfer continues to impress the NAIA as a regular competitor and undisputed top horizontal jumper within the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC).

Bos carried on with his thoughts on the meet thus far by stating, "Tomorrow is a big day for us as Kayla, Braydon, Jack, and Oliver all have excellent opportunities to gather All-American finishes in their final events. No matter what, I thank God for these student-athletes that He led to Corban, including the ones not here at nationals with us. God is good!"

The final day of the 2026 NAIA National Championships, and last opportunity for a Warrior student-athlete to claim an individual national championship and/or All-American honor in the 2025-26 school year, kicks off early tomorrow morning back on the campus of UNC-Asheville. Reis will kick off the action for Corban track & field at 10:30am PT in the men's triple jump, where he enters as the fifth-overall seed. Redshirt senior Kayla Morgan looks to conclude her collegiate career with yet another All-American accolade in the women's high jump at 11am PT to close out the field event competitors as the No. 4-seed, followed by fifth-seeded junior Braydon Lee in the men's 1,500m finals at 12:20pm PT while Gladfelter closes out the meet for the Navy and Gold in the men's 5,000m at 1:55pm PT.
