GRESHAM, Ore. – Junior David Brown came within six seconds of qualifying for the NAIA Outdoor Championships thanks to a school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, as Corban's men's track & field team also set a school record in the 4x100 meter relay event Saturday at the Saints Open hosted by Mt. Hood Community College.

Brown's time in the 3,000 meter steeplechase was good enough for a second place finish, as the third-year Warriors finished the event with a time of 9:34.33 that was a mere 5.33 seconds off the NAIA's 'B' mark. Thanks to his school record time, Brown also qualified for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships later this season.
