Warriors Compete on Day #1 of Willamette Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

SALEM, Ore. – Three members of Corban's men's track & field team competed Friday on the opening day of the Willamette Invitational on Charles Bowles Track at McCullough Stadium.

The Willamette Invitational is one of the largest college track and field meets on the West Coast along with the Stanford Invitational and Oregon Relays, as approximately 1,000 athletes have entered this year's event.

A trio of juniors – Jacob Bowdoin, David Brown, and John Trimble – took to the track Friday night, as Bowdoin and Trimble ran in the 5,000 meter run with Brown being the Warriors' lone runner in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

In the final running event prior to the Charles Bowles Celebration of Distance, Bowdoin and Trimble took part in the 5K with Bowdoin finishing 10th thanks to a time of 15:39.96. Meanwhile, Trimble was a distant 23rd with a time of 16:28.01.

Brown would step onto the track for the second race in the Charles Bowles Celebration of Distance, as the third-year Warrior took part in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The junior from Idaho would finish seventh overall thanks to a school-record time of 9:31.21, which missed the provisional qualifying time for the NAIA Outdoor Championships by 2.21 seconds.

Corban's track and field team will continue competing at the Willamette Invitational tomorrow – Saturday, March 31st – beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Charles Bowles Track at McCullough Stadium in Salem.
