FINAL RESULTS
SALEM, Ore. – On the final day of the Willamette Invitational, Corban's men's track & field team had a new school-record set in the 4x400 meter relay Saturday on Charles Bowles Track at McCullough Stadium.
The Warriors' 'A' team consisting of freshman
Austin Koos, freshman
Jacob Ybarra, junior
Bryce Petersen, and freshman
Nathan Swanson finished fourth overall in a school-record time of 3:21.16, while Corban's 'B' team that consisted of senior
Caleb Goins, senior
Erik Cronrath, senior
Ben Search, and junior
Taylor Wilkins was eighth overall thanks to a time of 3:27.34.
Ybarra would began the second day of competition in the long jump finishing in a tie for sixth after leaping 6.32 meters (20-feet, 9-inches).
In the only other field event that feature a member of the Warriors' team, sophomore
Zach Conlee finished 18th in the discus after unleashing a throw of 36.46 meters (119-feet, 7-inches).
Corban's 4x100 meter relay team would kick off the track events on Day #2 with an eighth place finish, as the quartet of freshman
Chris Doxtator, Ybarra, sophomore
Jordan Hatfield, and freshman
Brett Johnson clocked a time of 44.61 seconds.
In the 110 meter hurdles, sophomore
Kyle Croft finished eighth with a time of 16.20 seconds and Hatfield was 13th overall after posting a time of 17.24 seconds.
Five Warriors – Swanson, Koos, Petersen, Cronrath, and freshman
Seth West – would take part in the 400 meter dash, as Swanson was fourth overall with a time of 50.34 seconds. The remaining quartet each finished in the Top 15, as Koos (6th - 51.34), Petersen (10th - 51.59), Cronrath (13th - 52.22), and West (14th - 52.59) all broke the 53-second mark.
The freshman trio of Johnson, Ybarra, and Doxtator would be the next Warriors on the track in the 100 meter dash, as Johnson and Ybarra tied for 17th overall with identical times of 11.37 seconds and Doxtator was 23rd overall after posting a time of 11.82 seconds.
In the 800 meter run, Goins and Search finished 21st and 26th, respectively, in times of 1:58.98 and 1:59.72 as each cracked the two-minute mark.
Croft would run his second race of the afternoon next for Corban, as he finished 14th in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:00.75.
In the next-to-last event of the day, Johnson finished 13th in the 200 meter dash thanks to a time of 22.88 seconds.
Corban's track & field team will next be in action on Thursday, April 5th, at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Multi-Events when a few Warriors will attempt to win the decathlon at the conference championship event that begins at 10:00 a.m. at Oregon City High School in Oregon City.
