Swanson Wins 400 Meter Run at John Knight Twilight

FINAL RESULTS

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Freshman Nathan Swanson became the first-ever Warrior to win an event at the annual John Knight Twilight capturing the victory in the 400 meter run in a school-record tying time Friday at McArthur Field.

Swanson tied former Warrior David Anderson's school-record time in the 400 meter run after clocking a race-winning 49.16 seconds to win the event by 0.34 seconds. The first-year Warrior ran the 30th fastest time in the NAIA this season coming within 0.26 seconds of earning a NAIA 'B' Qualification time.

Along with Swanson, Corban's 4x400 meter relay team set a school-record becoming the first Warrior relay team to clock a time under three minutes and 20 seconds. The Warriors finished second in the race thanks to a time of 3:19.77, as the quartet of freshman Austin Koos, senior Erik Cronrath, junior Bryce Petersen, and Swanson came within two seconds of earning a NAIA 'B' Qualification time posting the 20th fastest time this season in the NAIA.

Also competing this evening for the Warriors was freshman Brett Johnson in the 100 meter dash, as the first-year Warrior finished tied for seventh with a time of 11.21 seconds.

Johnson also took part in the 200 meter dash finishing fourth overall in a time of 22.53 seconds, as he came within one second of earning a preliminary qualification time for this year's NAIA Outdoor National Championships in late May.

Seniors Caleb Goins and Ben Search took part in the 800 meter run, as the duo finished sixth and 10th, respectively, in times of 1:57.12 and 1:58.91.

Junior Jacob Bowdoin would take part in the 1,500 meter run finishing 18th overall thanks to a time of 4:02.01, as the third-year Warrior was the fifth Cascade Collegiate Conference runner to cross the finish line.

In the 400 meter intermediate hurdles, sophomore Kyle Croft finished seventh overall thanks to a time of 57.15 seconds finishing just over two seconds behind race winner – Oregon's Johnathan Cabral.

In the Warriors' final event of the evening, junior David Brown finished sixth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase posting a time of 9:31.53 coming within 0.32 seconds of his school-record time in the event.

Corban's track & field team will return to action on Saturday, April 21st, at the Cougar Open hosted by Clackamas Community College beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Clackamas.
