School Records Set at Annual Pacific Northwest Relays

FINAL RESULTS

OREGON CITY, Ore. – An individual and both 4x800 meter relays teams set school records, as Corban's track & field teams competed at the annual Pacific Northwest Relays Friday at Oregon City High School.

Junior John Trimble set a new school record in the 3,000 meter run thanks to a time of 9:13.31 finishing sixth overall. Meanwhile, the Warriors' 4x800 meter relay teams both set school records with the women's squad clocking a time of 9:36.57 finishing second compared to the men's time of 7:58.54 en route to finishing third overall.

On the women's side, junior Eliya Kohl competed in the 200 meter dash finishing third in a time of 27.42 seconds before winning the triple jump with a leap of 10.64 meters (34-feet, 11-inches).

Along with Kohl, freshman Emily Childers also competed in the 200 meter dash finishing seventh overall in a time of 28.37 seconds.

Freshman McKenzie Poe and junior Kelsey Childers would run in the 3,000 meter run finishing seventh and 10th, respectively, with times of 11:46.42 and 12:01.00.

The only other individuals for Corban – senior Amy Renfro and junior Rachel Newby – would compete in the pole vault and javelin, as Renfro finished 10th in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 2.15 meters (7-feet, 0.50-inches) and Newby turned in a third place showing in the javelin with a throw of 36.79 meters (120-feet, 8-inches).

In the relay events, Corban's squads would win the distance medley in a time of 13:06.33 before finishing fourth in the 800 sprint medley with a time of 2:03.74.

On the men's side, freshman Brett Johnson finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.56 seconds that was a mere .04 seconds off his own school record time. Along with Johnson, a quartet of Warriors – freshman Nathan Swanson, junior Bryce Petersen, freshman Seth West, and sophomore Chris McGehee – also competed all finishing in the Top 21 individually eclipsing the 26-second mark.

Trimble was joined in the 3,000 meter run by freshman John Weber, who finished seventh in a time of 9:15.13.

In the 110 meter hurdles, sophomore Kyle Croft finished fourth overall in a time of 16.16 seconds with freshman Chris Doxtator and McGehee finishing in the Top 13 with times of 16.59 and 19.58 seconds, respectively.

Sophomore Zach Conlee and freshman Jack Lander would both compete in the shot put and discus. Conlee would finish 14th and seventh, respectively, with throws of 11.41 meters (37-feet, 5.25-inches) in the shot put and 36.97 meters (121-feet, 3-inches) in the discus. Meanwhile, Lander was 15th and 13th, respectively, recording throws of 10.82 meters (35-feet, 6-inches) in the shot put and 31.46 meters (103-feet, 2-inches) in the discus.

In the relay events, Corban's 'A' team would finish second in the 800 sprint medley with a time of 1:34.13 and distance medley thanks to a combined team time of 10:47.47. The Warriors' top team would also turn in a fifth place finish in the 4x100 meter relay thanks to a time of 44.22 seconds. Corban's 'B' team also competed in the 800 sprint medley finishing fifth in a time of 1:38.92.

Corban's track & field teams will return to action on Friday, April 13th, at the John Knight Twilight hosted by Western Oregon University beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Monmouth.
