FINAL RESULTS
McMINNVILLE, Ore. – A handful of Warriors competed Friday at the Linfield Twilight, as Corban's men's and women's track & field teams closed out the regular season looking to potentially earn some qualifying marks for the upcoming NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in mid-May.
Junior
Jacob Bowdoin and freshman
John Weber began the evening for the Warriors in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, as Bowdoin outlasted Weber with times of 10:13.76 and 10:17.29, respectively.
In the 400 meter dash, freshman
Seth West finished fifth overall with a time of 52.87 seconds.
Junior
Eliya Kohl was the first member of Corban's women's track & field team to compete turning in a third place finish in the 100 meter dash thanks to a time of 13.01 seconds.
Next up for the Warriors was freshman
Brett Johnson, who captured the title in the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 11.19 seconds to win the race by 0.08 seconds.
Corban's 4x400 women's relay team would take the track next for the Warriors, as the quartet of junior
Rachael Estabrook, freshman
Haley Holboke, junior
Kelsey Childers, and junior
Christy Mosier finished as the runner-up thanks to a combined team time of 4:13.85.
The men's 4x400 relay team would win its race, as the quartet of freshman
Austin Koos, freshman
Jacob Ybarra, junior
Bryce Petersen, and freshman
Nathan Swanson turned in a combined team time of 3:20.71. The Warriors' 'A' team outlasted the 'B' team that consisted of Johnson, senior
Caleb Goins, senior
Erik Cronrath, and senior
Ben Search by 1.05 seconds, as Corban's second team posted a time of 3:21.76.
In the men's long jump, Johnson finished sixth thanks to a lead of 5.87 meters (19-feet, 3.25-inches) to finish 0.64 meters behind the event winner.
Kohl would return to the track to compete in the women's triple jump, as she captured the title with a leap of 10.77 meters (35-feet, 4-inches) that won the event by 0.44 meters.
In the men's discus, sophomore
Zach Conlee and freshman
Jack Lander finished second and fourth, respectively, with throws of 37.36 (122-feet, 7-inches) and 35.27 meters (115-feet, 8-inches).
Lander would continue competition in the hammer throw, as the first-year Warrior finished eighth overall with a distance of 36.18 meters (118-feet, 8-inches).
Senior
Rachel Newby would close out the competition for Corban's women's team in the javelin, as she finished fourth overall with a throw of 36.89 meters (121-feet).
Lander would be the final Warrior to compete this evening, as he took part in the shot put finishing seventh overall with a throw of 11.12 meters (36-feet, 5.75-inches).
Corban's two teams will now set their sights on the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships that begins on Thursday, May 10th, at 5:00 p.m. at John F. Moehl Stadium on the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls.
