It was a well-fought game throughout, featuring five lead changes and four ties, but the Warriors were ultimately unable to overcome a 16.67% shooting-percentage in the second half, as the Owls shot 34.62% in comparison while outscoring Corban 26-17 in that second half.
The Warriors looked to be on the verge of a comeback, when a clutch jumper by freshman forward Jordan Rasberry (Clackamas, Ore.) knotted the game at 36, but a three-pointer by Mary Drzayich 21 seconds later put Oregon Tech ahead for good.
The Owls' out-rebounded the Warriors, 51-38, while shooting 36.4% from the field. Corban shot 25% overall on the day, including a 2-for-25 from beyond the arc.
"The ladies played their hearts out, so it was a very disappointing outcome," said Corban head coach Dave Bale. "We forced 22 turnovers and committed only 12, but the ball just didn't want to find the net. Our bench really helped us when we got into early foul trouble."
Senior Jade Lowery (Oregon City, Ore.) led the Warriors with 11 points and was the only player in double figures, while Annie Owen (Corvallis, Ore.) chipped in eight and junior forward Sadie Pilgeram (Helena, Mont.) added seven.
Oregon Tech was paced by Ashleigh Vandenbrink, as she scored 12 points while grabbing 11 boards. Karly Leveque also added 11 points for the Owls en route to their 22nd win of the 2015-16 campaign.
The Warriors (16-12, 11-8 CCC) will close out the regular season tomorrow night, as they host Southern Oregon University. It will be Senior Night for Corban, and tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
