Warrior Women’s Soccer Voted No. 7 in CCC Preseason Poll

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced its 2016 women's soccer coaches' preseason poll on Wednesday, ranking all 12 teams from high to low prior to the start of the upcoming season. With one first place vote, the Warriors were picked to finish No. 7 overall with 76 total points.

Corban, which recorded a 7-11-1 record in 2015 and a 4-6-1 mark in conference play returns a number of talented players, as well as a few who missed most of last year due to injury. Seniors Randi Donahue (Bellingham, Wash.) and Olivia Erskine (Chehalis, Wash.) will look to lead the way on the field this year for Corban, while junior Macy Goodwin (Pocatello, Idaho) rejoins the group following an injury in 2015.

Corban's 76 points were just two points behind Northwest University which received 78 points in sixth place. In the final weekend of the regular season in 2015, the Warriors defeated the Eagles up in Kirkland, 1-0.

Atop the preseason poll is defending CCC regular season and tournament champion, Carroll College. Carroll received nine first place votes with 139 points, while College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University each received one first place vote and boasted 117 and 115 points, respectively.

Rocky Mountain College was slated in fourth with 99 points, while Southern Oregon University was picked fifth with 92 points. Corban was the only team not picked in the top-three teams to receive a first-place vote.

Rounding out the top-eight teams was the University of Great Falls at No. 8 with 65 points.
