"What a battle," said Corban head coach Michelle Skyles. "C of I came in ready to play their game, and it was a struggle throughout. Our team was able to keep their composure and rally when we needed to."

Corban began the game very well, with Payton Wilcox and Maddey Pflaumer both scoring a number of buckets early to give Corban the quick 12-2 advantage. The Yotes responded with Lumpert making some early shots, however, setting up C of I's full-court press which led to a few Corban turnovers and easy buckets for the Yotes. After the first quarter, Corban led 22-21.

The Warriors extended the lead to 40-35 at the halftime break, but in the third quarter, C of I cut the deficit to just one point heading into the final stanza.

In that final quarter, Corban locked down defensively and held the Yotes to just a 10-point output, and on the offensive end, Pflaumer and Sadie Pilgeram came up clutch, making the key shots down the stretch en route to the pivotal win over the Yotes.

"Our seniors were huge for us tonight," said Skyles. "Payton in the first half, and Sadie and Maddey in the second half. Our guards were able to handle the immense pressure and our rebounding was great. The bench rallies us on and I'm super proud of our team."

Pflaumer finished with 22 points on a 11-for-12 shooting mark while also grabbing eight boards and nabbing three steals. Wilcox finished the evening with 21 points and five rebounds, while Pilgeram came up with a double-double performance with 11 points and 11 boards.

After the contest, Wilcox talked about the big win in a post-game interview:

In the contest, Corban won the rebounding battle, 47-33, and shot 45.5% for the game while holding the Yotes to a 37.7% mark.

For C of I (6-11, 6-5 CCC), Petra Lumpert totaled 22 points on a 9-for-16 shooting effort, while Kiara Skinner was on fire from beyond the arc, nailing a quartet of three-pointers in an 18-point performance.

Corban (12-7, 6-5 CCC) returns to the court tomorrow when it hosts No. 17-ranked Eastern Oregon University. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
