KIRKLAND, Wash. – The No. 12-ranked Corban University volleyball team stumbled on Saturday night, losing for the first time in eight matches. On Saturday, it was the Northwest University Eagles defeating the Warriors, and in straights sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-16).
"Northwest came to play tonight, and played a great match," said Corban head coach Kim McLain.
The loss for the Warriors was the first time Corban hadn't beaten the Eagles since the 2015 season. In addition, Corban had won every set against Northwest dating back to last year prior to Saturday night's defeat.
Offensively, the Warriors racked up 29 errors, while the Eagles tallied just nine. Corban hit for just a .140 percentage, while Northwest swung for a .252 mark.
Amber Parker led the way with 14 kills for the Warriors, while Alaina Gentili tallied five.
Defensively, Haley Wells recorded a team-best 15 digs.
Corban (17-7, 12-3 CCC) returns to the court on Friday, October 20, when it hosts Northwest Christian University. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
